Southern hip-hop is indeed a truly resonating sound.  The accent, slang, and on record ego of down south artists separates their craft from others.  King personifies the southern culture of the rap game.  With an infectious voice and recognizable sound, King is a true industry vet with the hunger of a rookie.  Having been signed to Def Jam in 2006, King is bringing an undeniable rawness that will propel him back to the plateau for which he once achieved.  While the South has often been criticized for lack of lyrical content, the Check On Me rhymer is masterfully incorporating catchy hooks and melodies, with thought-provoking punch-lines and wordplay.  His music offers samples from everything that makes the south unique, with the diversity and multi-faceted nature that connects with all regions.  King is hip-hop.  King is the south.  King is the embodiment of what the industry, along with the underground, has grown to expect and desire from that specific region.  With a strong reume', following, and industry sense, King is putting himself back on the map.  As he drops new singles and gears up for his 2013 release of "Kush And Yellow Diamondz" the MAG spitter is sticking true to the connotation of his alias and aiming for the hip-hop throne of the south.

Underground Spotlight: Cory Jreamz

Name: Cory Jreamz
Age: 18
Hometown: Houston, TX
Affiliation: N/A
Released Projects:
"Polysemy EP" (2011)
Upcoming Projects:
"Vague Current Vivid Fated" (TBD)

The vision of Hip-Hop's youth is clouded by media influence and propaganda, instructing new artists on how to fit a mold of what the modern day musician should be.  Cory Jreamz is adopting a different approach.  Cory has entered a vastly different realm of hip-hop that consists of messages of revolution and introspection, while still holding relevance in an expanding era.  The Houston native almost plays the role of a preacher, vice a rapper, in an attempt to enlighten and compound the thoughts of his listeners.  The music is fresh, innovative, and presents the feel of a man wise beyond his years, but with the reality of a kid still refining his talent.  The outside influences (art, politics, etc.) are what comprises his music into a pop-culture PSA and goes well beyond average hip-hop.  Having already released the "Polysemy EP" and working on his "Vague Current Vivid Fated" project, 18 year old Jreamz is methodically showing his fans, along with newly intrigued listeners, his impeccable talent and his inherent ability to view musical intricacies just a little bit differently.
